Heathrow Closed By Drone Sighting

Breaking News

Heathrow Airport in London has shut down all departures after a pilotless drone craft was sighted flying in the vicinity of the runways according to BBC reports.

Tonight's closure at Heathrow follows almost five days of chaos at Gatwick airport a month ago, just before Christmas. Police and security officers eventually called in specialised military equipment normally deployed in war zones like Afghanistan to track and disable multiple drones being deliberately used to disrupt normal civilian air traffic operations.

No arrests have yet been made in respect of the rogue drones used at Gatwick from 20th December onwards. It is thought the perpetrators are eco-terrorists.

The British government announced new legal restrictions on the use of pilotless drones in the vicinity of airports only this morning.

I'm sure we'll see ever increasing, hi-tech crimes as technology continues to get less expensive and more widely available. Makes you wonder what can be done about it. Seems like the governments need a department of anti-tech that predicts how technology can be used for crimes in the future and then searches for ways to prevent it including legally preventing technology from being marketed and ways to thwart it if it does get out. Hundreds of years ago, it was guns.
